Lloyd Jones was on the scoresheet as the Addicks secured a 2-1 win over Derby County on Saturday afternoon, with the defender enjoying his first goal in front of the Covered End.
“It has been a great week! My contract got announced yesterday and that is my first goal in front of the Covered End. To come from behind and win, what a feeling! And long may it continue,” he said.
“It was brilliant that we managed to get back into the game. Derby are a strong team, they were part of a play-off push last year, they have some really good individuals and we went a goal down.”
“There is nothing better than attacking the Covered End.”
Charlton were backed by a crowd of more than 21,000 for their Sky Bet Championship opener.
“The crowd are the best. They give us that extra 10%, we can’t thank them enough. Keep coming in your numbers!”
