Charlton Stakeholder Advisory Board

The Charlton Stakeholder Advisory Board exists to advise and counsel the club's Board, using current and historical contextual knowledge, critical thinking and analysis. To advise, rather than endorse or oppose, the Advisory Board is independent of the club. It has the key role of protecting the proud heritage of the football club, shaping its fan engagement and using its advanced community development strategy to widen and diversify the fanbase.

Ahead of the 2026/27 Sky Bet Championship season, the board have successfully contributed to the launch of the revised Supporters' Group programme, the 2026/27 Fan Engagement Plan and a dedicated "Fans" drop down on the website.

As a priority, the Stakeholder Advisory Board contributes to communication between the supporters and the club, at a strategic level, influencing key decisions that impact on the future ambitions and growth of the club.

The board is made up of representatives from Charlton Athletic Community Trust, Charlton Athletic Supporters’ Trust, Charlton Athletic Supporters and the Ex-Players’ Association. See below.

A summary of successful outcomes raised by the Advisory Board:

• Officially-recognised supporter group packages: In July 2025, the Advisory Board advised on the implementation of club-affiliated supporters’ groups to streamline benefits and clarify point of contact with the club. The Supporters Group initiative was launched successfully in July 2026.

• Fan Engagement plan and visibility on cafc.co.uk: In the summer of 2026, the Advisory Board sought to improve the profile of fan engagement strategy on the club’s website and the Advisory Board’s position within that – presenting a coherent and coordinated approach. A revised Fan Engagement section was launched in July 2026.

• Contributing to strategic discussions on the introduction of membership schemes, levels of season ticket pricing and accessing away ticketing, as well as conversations on potential sponsorship deals and, importantly, advising the club on successfully applying for the Independent Football Regulator (IFR) licence, providing evidence of fan consultation and outcomes as a key part of the process...

Over time, supporters will have the opportunity to seek election to the Stakeholder Advisory Board, as per the terms of reference which can be found here.
