Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce the loan signing of midfielder Paula Partido from WSL side London City Lionesses.
Partido makes the short trip across London to become Karen Hills' first signing of the summer, arriving on a one-year loan deal.
Partido started her senior career with Real Madrid, with two loan deals at Celtic, where she was part of their 2023/24 SWPL1 title-winning season, and Sevilla before signing for the Bromley-based side in 2025.
She spent the first half of last season on loan in Spain playing for DUX Logroño before returning to LCL in January.
The exciting midfielder has also been capped by Spain at U17 and U20 level, being part of the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup winning squad.
After signing for the club, Partido said: "I’m really happy to be here. I can’t wait to get started with the season. I’m very happy to also meet all the fans, and I can’t wait for that.
When asked what her first impressions of the club were, Partido said: "It’s really good. I’ve been training for two days, and it’s really good - the training ground and the stadium - all the people there are really nice, so I’m very happy."
Partido has not yet made an appearance in the WSL, so she is looking forward to getting her opportunity to play in the league for Charlton.
"I think to play in the WSL, It’s going to be a very good season, and I can’t wait to get started."
