Women's and Girls' Football
Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) provide a wide range of opportunities for women and girls to get involved in football across south-east London and Kent, with sessions available for all ages and ability levels. From fun introductory sessions for beginners through to player development pathways and Post-16 education pathways, our football offering for women and girls is designed to support every player’s journey in the game.
Delivered by FA-qualified coaches in a safe and supportive environment, our sessions focus on developing skills, confidence and a lifelong enjoyment of football, while creating clear pathways for those who wish to progress their game further.
CACT's weekly girls-only football sessions are as follows:
CACT's Girls Play Centres offer a beginner-friendly session for girls taking their first steps in the game. We aim to build confidence in the basics, and create an environment where girls can have fun, learn new skills and make new friends. Sessions for 3-11 year-old girls are run by CACT's qualified coaches on a weekly basis at two locations across south-east London and Bexley:
- Monday from 5pm to 6pm at Sporting Club Thamesmead, 30 Bayliss Avenue, Thamesmead, London SE28 8NJ.
- Thursday from 5pm to 7pm at Crook Log Leisure Centre, Brampton Road, Bexleyheath, DA7 4HH.

Players attending the centre will be coached by CACT's UEFA/FA licensed coaches, working to a specialised Charlton Athletic Academy-influenced curriculum, which focuses on enhancing technical, tactical, physical, and social abilities in players who are looking to improve their gameplay ability. These sessions are for players with previous experience playing competitively, and aim to offer exit routes into local JPL teams, CACT's Post-16 Football Education Programme, and Charlton Athletic Women's Emerging Talent Centre and Academy Teams.
CACT's Advanced Centre will also accommodate goalkeepers by providing bespoke sessions to improve keepers' technical and game-related skills.
Sessions take place at the following time and location:
- Monday from 4:30pm to 6pm at CAFC Training Ground, via Footscray Rugby Club, SE9 2EL. For U9 to U16 age groups and including a Goalkeeper-specific group.
