Charlton Athletic's Schools Partnership team enjoyed a busy and successful summer, visiting 22 school fairs and community events across Bexley and Greenwich as the programme continues to grow its reach across the local area.
The visits provided hundreds of children and parents with the opportunity to learn more about Charlton and the Schools Partnership programme, which was relaunched in late 2024 to strengthen the club's connection with local schools and inspire the next generation of Addicks supporters. The events also provided an opportunity to raise awareness of the programme ahead of the new academic year and engage directly with pupils, parents and school staff across both boroughs.
Since its relaunch, the Schools Partnership has expanded to include more than 80 schools across the local area, creating opportunities for thousands of young people to engage with the club through exclusive experiences, events and discounted ticket offers.
One of the highlights of the activity was the appearance of Charlton's popular mascots, Floyd and Harvey, who delighted children at a number of events across Bexley and Greenwich. The duo posed for photographs, met young supporters and helped create memorable experiences for families throughout the summer.
The school fair visits form part of the club's wider Schools Partnership programme, which provides participating schools with access to a range of Charlton-related opportunities, including player appearances, exclusive experiences at The Valley and Schools Partnership events and tournaments.
The initiative also enables local schoolchildren to access discounted match tickets, with 100% of revenue generated from selected fixtures returned directly to participating schools. During the 2025/26 season, the scheme generated 3,369 ticket sales across designated Schools Partnership fixtures, with more than £10,000 in ticket revenue donated back to local schools.
The club would like to thank all of the schools, staff, pupils and families who welcomed Charlton representatives throughout the summer and helped make each event such a success.
Katie Cowling, who heads up the Schools Partnership programme for the club, said: "It's been fantastic to visit 22 school fairs across Bexley and Greenwich this summer. The response from pupils, parents and school staff has been incredibly positive, and it has been great to see so many children engaging with Charlton Athletic.
"Floyd and Harvey have been hugely popular at every event, and we're excited to continue growing the Schools Partnership and inspiring the next generation of Addicks supporters."
As preparations continue for the new academic year, the Schools Partnership team looks forward to building on the strong relationships established across Bexley and Greenwich, expanding the programme further and creating even more opportunities for local children and families to connect with Charlton Athletic.
