Linda Lif Boama is an Addick!

Linda Signing

Charlton Athletic Women are delighted to announce the signing of Icelandic international Linda Lif Boama on a three-year contract with the club.

Boama joins the Addicks from Swedish side Kristianstads DFF for a Charlton Women's record fee, adding another attacker to Karen Hills' lineup for the upcoming Barclays WSL season.

On joining, Boama said: "I’m super happy. It's always been a dream to play in the WSL, so I’m happy to be here."

The 25-year-old was born and raised in Iceland, starting her career with Icelandic side HK/Víkingur. Following a season at HK/Víkingur, Boama signed for Icelandic side Þróttur in 2019, playing for them for two seasons before representing the Boston College Eagles as she attended Boston College in the United States.

After playing in Boston, Boama returned to her native Iceland, signing for Víkingur Reykjavík, prior to joining Kristianstad in Sweden.

Now, Boama comes to SE7, ready to make her mark.

"I’m so happy to be here, and I can’t wait to get started."

A striker by trade, Boama promised the fans that they will see "Hard work, and most of all, I’m a fast and strong player, so I’m always able to show those attributes," on the pitch.

Boama will wear the number 13 for the Addicks, which, contrary to popular belief, is a lucky number for her.

"It’s for my mum. Her birthday is on December 13th, and there’s also this really famous saying: ‘lucky number 13’."

You can see Boama in action in our final pre-season game against Wolves tomorrow (Sunday, August 30th), before the team kick off their Barclays WSL campaign against Liverpool, both at The Valley.
