Tyler Bindon was satisfied with a clean sheet and a point as Charlton shared a goalless draw with Portsmouth at The Valley on Saturday.
It was the second consecutive clean sheet that the Addicks had secured in SE7 after the goalless draw with Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday and Bindon believes it’s testament to his side’s determination and workrate.
“You take the clean sheet and the point,” he explained.
“I think everyone in the stadium including the players and the staff wanted the three points today and we were gutted that we didn’t get that, but you always take a clean sheet and a point.
“We’re still undefeated at home, so we can take that positive and keep moving on.”
“Everyone has an amazing workrate, all working hard to keep a clean sheet together and that’s hard to find these days,” he added.
“You don’t keep clean sheets in the Championship often, so hopefully we can continue to do that.
“Your home record should always be as good as it can be, so when you can make that place a fortress, it means a lot to the fans and the players - we can feed of their energy and build on that.”
After arriving at the club in the middle of a hectic schedule over the last couple of weeks, the New Zealand international is looking forward to a clear week ahead as Charlton prepare for their next test, which comes in the form of a trip to Cardiff City next Saturday.
“It will be important [to have a clear week],” said Bindon.
“We can take time to reflect and look at Cardiff and go from there.”
“When you have a week to prepare, it can be better, so it will be good for us.
Meanwhile, Bindon has praised the group for making him feel welcome following his arrival on loan from Nottingham Forest.
“All the boys have been amazing to me,” he explained.
“I’ve got no complaints at all! They’ve been very welcoming and friendly and I’ve gotten along with absolutely everyone, so I’m very grateful for that.”
