Amari’i Bell is pleased with the start he and the team have made to the 2026/27 season.
The Addicks have made a strong start to the campaign, winning three of their opening six fixtures, alongside two draws and one defeat and, speaking ahead of Saturday's clash with Portsmouth at The Valley, the defender said:
"We are a team that is thriving at the moment. The Championship is a crazy league and a few good or bad results will either sky rocket you up the league or knock you a few places. We need to stay level-headed, stay grounded and take it from there."
“For me personally, I am [feeling] great. It is good to play consistently, I have been loving it at the moment. It has been a bit easier, we have had a good start to the season. Everybody has been in good stead.”
“It has been tough on the body to play all these games. But when you get into that momentum of playing well and getting points, we want to go into the next one and do even better.”
Nathan Jones' side secured a point at home to Queens Park Rangers in mid-week, after their unbeaten run came to an end at Stoke City last Saturday.
“Wednesday was very important. All the boys in the group, we wanted to put things right. It was a good point on Wednesday, but we want to improve the performance more as well and be better in games," Bell explained.
The defender expects a tough test from the visitors this weekend. “Every time I have played Portsmouth it is a club game, we want to win it. There will be a few less games and so we want to go out there and pick up some more points and this game is a perfect opportunity to do that," he said.
