Charlton Athletic will wear a special one-off Community Day shirt when the Addicks host Sheffield United on Saturday, November 7th, with the front of the kit dedicated to the incredible work of Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT).
In a show of support for the club’s charitable arm, RSK, Charlton’s front-of-shirt partner, has donated its branding position for the fixture, allowing the CACT logo to take centre stage alongside the message: "£83m generated in social impact".
The unique shirt was unveiled earlier this week at a launch event attended by participants from across CACT’s programmes, men’s first-team players Conor Coventry and Harvey Knibbs, and manager Nathan Jones.
The initiative aims to shine a spotlight on the extraordinary impact generated by CACT across south-east London and Kent.
While fundraising is what goes into a charity, social value is the positive change that comes out of it. It measures the wider benefits created through charitable work, capturing outcomes that do not traditionally carry a price tag, such as improved mental wellbeing, increased confidence, reduced loneliness, safer communities and greater opportunities for young people.
CACT measures that impact using Social Value Insight, a specialist platform developed by the Housing Association Charitable Trust. By analysing data from community programmes, the system calculates the wider social and economic value generated through the trust’s work.
From helping young people steer away from crime and anti-social behaviour to supporting older residents experiencing loneliness and isolation, CACT’s programmes continue to make a tangible difference across the communities the club serves.
The figure of £83m generated in social impact demonstrates the scale of that contribution and the lasting value created through the trust’s extensive work in health, education, inclusion and community engagement. The methodology used and figure reached is validated by the University of Greenwich, a long term partner of both the club and CACT.

Addicks boss Jones said: “The work CACT does, the humility they show and the people they impact is quite humbling. We try to get three points and win games, but the Community Trust changes people's lives and puts them on totally different paths. That is something truly special.”
CACT CEO Jason Morgan MBE said: “We’re looking forward to showcasing that figure of £83m in social impact on Community Matchday and sharing more of the stories behind it. Every day, our staff, volunteers and partners help people overcome challenges, build confidence and create positive change in their lives. That’s what this figure represents.”
RSK’s Wayne Mumford said: “When we were approached about relinquishing our branding position for the Sheffield United fixture, we had no hesitation. We’re delighted to help showcase the incredible work of CACT. To have generated £83m in social impact is a remarkable achievement and one that deserves to be celebrated.”
Conor Coventry added: “It’s an incredible figure. I was taken aback when I first heard it. As players, we see a lot of the work the Community Trust does, so it’s great that we can dedicate a day to highlighting the difference it makes to so many people.”
Supporters attending the fixture against Sheffield United will have the opportunity to celebrate the achievements of CACT and recognise the participants, staff, volunteers and partners whose contributions continue to make a lasting difference across south-east London and Kent.
