Charlton earned a point from a goalless draw with Queens Park Rangers at The Valley on Wednesday evening.
Nathan Jones made two changes to the side that started at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday, with Conor Coventry and Sonny Carey coming into the starting line-up in place of Timothy Ouma and Joe Rankin-Costello.
The home team started at a high tempo, as they created multiple chances in the opening exchanges.
Karlan Grant had the first real effort of the game as his shot was blocked by Kealey Adamson for a corner. Miles Leaburn nodded Grant’s subsequent set-piece just wide of the post.
Not long after, Harvey Vale cut inside before unleashing a shot that fizzed just past the post.
Charlton thought they had taken the lead on 39 minutes. Oliver Skipp took the ball down brilliantly in midfield and fed it through to Tyreece Campbell, who had calmly slotted the ball home, but saw his goal ruled out for a tight offside call.
Moments later, Arthur Okonkwo got down well to keep out Rumarn Burrell’s flick.
The Addicks had a penalty claim in stoppage time of the first half. Ivan Mesík was brought down by Dennis Cirkin in the box but saw his appeal waved away by referee Tom Nield.
The two teams went into half-time level. Nathan Jones made a change at the break as Joe Rankin-Costello entered the fray in place of Leaburn.
Okonkwo was called into action on 60 minutes as Paul Symth charged towards goal, but the Charlton keeper produced a fine stop to prevent QPR from opening the scoring.
The gaffer made a second change on 65 minutes, as Sonny Carey made way for Micah Mbick.
Glen Kamara found himself in some space outside the box and tried his luck from range but blazed his effort over the bar.
On 75 minutes, the ball fell to Oliver Skipp on the edge of the area, who in a similar fashion to Kamara, fired over.
The visitors had the chance to put themselves in front after Amadou Mbengue sent a searching cross into the box, that narrowly evaded an outstretched Burrell.
Millenic Alli was brought on for the final stages of the game, replacing Campbell.
Three minutes were added on at the end of the 90, as both sides searched for a winner.
