Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) enjoyed another successful summer of Kellogg's Football Camps delivered by CACT, with 1,111 young people aged 4-15 taking part across July and August - eclipsing last year's total of 1,087.
Across four venues in south-east London and Kent, CACT's Football and Sports Development team delivered 160 sessions and 960 hours of coaching, providing young people with opportunities to develop their football, meet new friends and enjoy their summer break on the pitch.
A major highlight of this year's camps was the chance for participants to meet Charlton men's and women's first-team players, with six visits taking place across the summer. Goalkeepers Tiernan Brooks and Thomas Kaminski were the first men's players to visit, with defenders Amari'i Bell and Reece Burke also making appearances. Charlton Women captain Kiera Skeels, in addition to teammates Lizzie Waldie and Jodie Hutton, also visited sessions in New Eltham, giving participants the opportunity to meet players from the club’s newly promoted women's first-team.
CACT’s summer programme offered a range of opportunities for young people aged 4-15, including specialist goalkeeper, advanced and girls-only sessions. All sessions were delivered by CACT’s qualified coaches, with participants able to enjoy high-quality facilities and opportunities to develop their football in a fun and inclusive environment.
With the summer holidays now over, CACT's football provision continues into September with a range of Football Centres designed for all ages and abilities.
Charlton Challenge is available for children aged 2-8, providing a structured and progressive programme focused on developing core movement and football skills. For 9-16-year-olds, the Player Development Centre offers a specialised curriculum based around the Charlton Athletic academy philosophy, with sessions focusing on technical, tactical, physical and social skills.
Girls can also take part in CACT's Girls Play and Girls Advanced Centre, with the former offering an introduction to football in a supportive, non-competitive environment, while the latter is targeted at girls seeking more elite training.
All Football Centres are delivered by FA-qualified coaches with age-appropriate coaching and weekly term-time training, with participants also receiving access to the 360Player app to support their development.
