Sonny Carey joined the Addicks in the summer of 2025 following the expiration of his contract at Blackpool.

The midfielder came through the Norwich City academy before enjoying a successful spell with non-League side King's Lynn Town, which earned him a permanent move to Blackpool in June 2021.

Carey featured 133 times for the Tangerines across his four-year spell and netting 11 goals from midfield during his final season at Bloomfield Road.

He enjoyed a standout campaign for the Addicks in the 2025/26 season, and was the club's top scorer with eight goals and two assists
