Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce the appointment of Brian Jokat as Chief Operating Officer.

Jokat is set to attend Saturday’s home game against Shrewsbury Town before starting in his new role in May.

He has a wide-ranging experience across sport, including working with Olympiacos and in a variety of senior-level positions within ice hockey.

In the new role, Jokat will operate from The Valley and will be responsible for all non-football operations such as ticketing, sales, sponsorships, communications, marketing and human resources. He will report directly to the club’s CEO and Owner, Thomas Sandgaard.

Sandgaard said: “Brian has a wealth of experience and contacts, and is a really important addition to the club. He will lead on all our business activity as we look to increase our commercial revenue.

"Brian’s knowledge will help drive us to becoming Premier League-ready on the business side. He'll allow us to increase revenues whilst adding to the fan experience, as we build to compete at Premier League level once again - a level our passionate fanbase deserve.”

Jokat said: “I am honoured the Sandgaard family have offered me this opportunity to assist in the rebuilding of Charlton Athletic. I have been fortunate to have been previously involved in Charlton Athletic Community Trust from 2005 to 2012 and I am close to the pulse of the club's supporters through attending many matches during that period.

"I look forward to delivering fan experiences and added value to our core family of supporters. I will assure our fanbase and sponsorship and hospitality clientele that we are listening to you and will deliver. I am looking forward to getting started.”
