Charlton to host Durham Women at The Valley on May 1st

Charlton will host Durham Women at The Valley on Sunday, May 1st (KO 2pm GMT) in the FA Women's Championship.

The Addicks' under Head Coach Karen Hills, turned professional last summer, following the takeover of Thomas Sandgaard, as part of Charlton’s new One Club approach. Hills’ side sit seventh in the Championship with two games of the season remaining.

Sandgaard said: “I am really pleased we’re able to host the team at The Valley for the final game of the season. Support at The Oakwood, in Crayford, has been growing during the second half of the season and it would be great to get our largest crowd of the year at The Valley cheering on the ladies.

“The group have come a long way in their first year of professional football and will be wanting to end the season on a high.”

Hills said: "It is exciting that the team will be playing at The Valley. I think these players deserve the opportunity to play in big stadiums.

"It is our last game on a big stage and I know the girls are going to perform and I know they are going to give their best selves to the game. It is going to be an exciting game, Durham are always going to be a tough test but I would just encourage all the fans to come down.

"It just shows how far the women's game is going and how much support we are now getting from the club. Hopefully going forward there will be many more games played at The Valley which again I think is really important to keep the growth going and encourage people to come down."

Tickets are available to purchase in advance for £10 for adults and £5 for concessions. Click here to purchase your tickets.
