MAGIC MOMENTS | Nine-year-old Raffaella receives Dobson’s match worn shirt

Fifth generation Addick Raffaella Camelia celebrated her ninth birthday in style at The Valley last month as she received George Dobson’s match worn shirt following Charlton’s FA Cup tie against Norwich City.

Raffaella created a homemade banner asking the midfielder for his jersey and, much to her delight, Dobson duly delivered at full-time.

“When watching football on TV she has seen other kids with signs asking for shirts or boots and she loves Dobson,” explained Raffaella’s dad. “She got up on Sunday morning before the Norwich game and started to make it. It took around two hours!

“Her first words were ‘get in there!’. She could not stop smiling, it really made her birthday. She couldn’t wait to tell mummy and friends!

“She just loves the shirt! It is hanging up in her bedroom with her other shirt that she got given by Jonny Williams at the Doncaster semi-final game at The Valley when we got onto the pitch after the penalty kicks.

“At school they have a day called show and tell so she took it in to show and her friends couldn’t believe it. Her teacher was so happy for her as she knows Raffaella is a big, big Charlton supporter and has a season ticket. She plays for a boys football team on Sunday called Forestdale and also plays for Arsenal Women’s U9s.”

The Addicks are back in action at The Valley on Saturday against AFC Wimbledon. Simply click here to purchase your ticket for Saturday’s game.
