20-years-old, in a foreign country, miles away from family and Hollie Olding was told she needed heart surgery and would never play football again!
Olding is now 22 and forms a key part of a Charlton defence that has helped Karen Hills’ side to three wins in their first four games in the FA Women’s Championship.
The centre half joined the Addicks this summer, as the club turned professional, and is the first person featured as part of CharltonTV’s brand new My Story series, which gives fans the opportunity to get to know the Addicks players.
She talks through how she got into football, a traumatic misdiagnosis, playing for England at youth levels and her pride at being part of the club’s first ever professional women’s team.
