Andrew Shinnie completes permanent move from Luton Town

Andrew Shinnie has signed for Charlton on a permanent deal from Luton Town until the end of the season.

The deal means Charlton will be able to include Shinnie and the club’s five other loanees in a matchday squad.

Clubs are only allowed to include five loan players in a matchday squad. The Addicks had six players on loan – Ian Maatsen, Akin Famewo, Matt Smith, Liam Millar and Jayden Stockley – as well as Shinnie but following the signing can now include all of them on a matchday.

Charlton Manager Lee Bowyer said: “We’d like to thank Luton Town and Andrew for working with us to get this deal done. It gives us greater flexibility as we prepare for our final 18 league games of the season.”

Shinnie has played an important part for the Addicks since arriving in October with two goals and four assists in 16 appearances.
