TEAM NEWS | Three changes on Boxing Day

Lee Bowyer has made three changes to his side to take on Plymouth Argyle at The Valley on Boxing Day.

Following the 2-2 draw at Swindon Town last weekend, Chuks Aneke, Jonny Williams and Adam Matthews come into this week’s starting XI while Albie Morgan makes the bench, having completed a period of self-isolation following one of his family members contracting Covid-19.

On-loan striker Paul Smyth also returns to the matchday squad for the first time since his injury, making the bench having recovered from a gash on his knee sustained at Portman Road last month.

Ben Amos continues in goal whilst Jason Pearce captains the side with Ian Maatsen, Chris Gunter and Adam Matthews making up the defence. Jake Forster-Caskey will once again feature in the centre of midfield alongside Ben Watson and Darren Pratley. The Addick’s field an attack of Jonny Williams, Chuks Aneke and Conor Washington.

Charlton: Amos, Matthews, Gunter, Pearce (c), Maatsen, Watson, Forster-Caskey, Pratley, Williams, Washington, Aneke.

Subs: Maynard-Brewer, Oshilaja, Gilbey, Bogle, Morgan, Maddison, Smyth.
