U18S REPORT | Millwall 1 Charlton 2

Charlton U18s snatched a last-minute winner against Millwall on Saturday afternoon to give themselves a dream start to their 2020/21 Professional Development League campaign.

Dylan Gavin opened the scoring on 21st minute, capping off a fine attacking move, which started from 'keeper James Beadle, with a sublime finish from the edge of the box into the side of the net.

It looked as though the game would end in a tie when a Millwall player was able to get on the end of a deep cross from the right wing to fire in at Beadle's near post 10 minutes from time.

However, Mack Reilly snatched a 90th-minute winner when he was able to work his way past the Lions' defence before drilling a shot low from into the bottom corner. The result means that they sit in third place in the southern group of the PDL after the first round of games.

Charlton's U18s are back in action next Saturday when they host Queens Park Rangers.

Charlton U18s: Beadle, Hobden, Asiimwe, Elerewe, Beadle, Agyemang, Chin, Santos, Kanu (Reilly 84), Gavin, Campbell (Mitchell 78).

Subs (not used): Watkins, Huke
