TEAM NEWS | Oshilaja to captain the Addicks as Barker handed first senior outing

The Addicks kick-off the 2020/21 season with a mix of youth and experience in this evening’s EFL Trophy game against AFC Wimbledon at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium.

Deji Oshilaja, who previously captained today's opponents, will skipper the Addicks for the first time while 17-year-old defender, Charlie Barker – son of the club’s former Assistant Manager Richie, makes his first senior outing. 

He’ll be joined in the line-up by Aaron Henry, who turned 17 yesterday.

The Addicks may line-up in a 4-5-1 with Ashley Maynard-Brewer starting in goal behind a defence of Ben Dempsey, Barker, Oshilaja and Ben Purrington.

George Lapslie, James Vennings, Henry, Erhun Oztumer and Albie Morgan may start in a midfield behind Josh Davison.

Ben Amos, Jake Forster-Caskey, Macauley Bonne and Alfie Doughty make up a strong Charlton substitutes bench.
