Trust holiday courses to return on July 6th

Summer FHC

Charlton Athletic Community Trust will be delivering summer football courses following government guidelines from Monday, July 6th.

Initially, all sessions will take place on CACT’s community pitches at the Charlton Athletic Training Ground in New Eltham. Courses may expand to other venues later this summer.

The courses have been adapted in line with social distancing regulations and will provide a safe environment for four to 15-year-olds throughout the summer.

The pitch will be split into six areas to ensure social distancing is maintained with five young people per area, and controlled entry and exits.

Sessions will run from Monday to Friday and last two hours per block, with bookings available at 9.30am, 12.30pm or 3.30pm slots.

Following the easing of lockdown measures, the adapted return of the holiday football courses will allow young people to continue to stay active during the summer holidays by physically distancing and socially connecting.

Bradley Marshall, CACT’s Senior Football & Sports Development Officer, said: “CACT coaching staff are prepared and procedures have been put in place to follow government and FA guidelines.

“Coaches will be delivering technique and skill-based sessions, there will be no match or game-based activities.

“We are very much looking forward to getting back on the pitch delivering our popular football holiday courses. There will be prizes and competitions for every session.”

Following the COVID-19 outbreak, CACT has encouraged young people to keep active at home by providing regular challenges for them to take part in.

Adapted holiday courses follow the success of Premier League Kicks and Charlton Upbeats sessions, which resumed earlier in June.
