Valley Gold poll to find Charlton's best academy graduate

Valley Gold is asking Charlton fans who the best player to come through the club’s esteemed academy is.

Launched in 1989, Valley Gold's original aim was to aid the club’s return to The Valley. When this was achieved in December 1992, the focus switched to helping Charlton’s academy go from strength to strength. Valley Gold, a supporter membership group, provides valuable funds to the academy throughout the year.

The Charlton academy is one of the best in the country with various former players now plying their trade in the Premier League including Joe Gomez, Ezri Konsa, Jonjo Shelvey and Nick Pope.

This season alone academy graduates have played an important role in the club’s Championship campaign with Dillon Phillips, Alfie Doughty and plenty more involved in the first team squad.

So who really is the best academy graduate of all time? Email Sharron.sherress@valleygold.org.uk to vote. Voting closes at 6pm on Friday, May 22nd.

A list of every academy graduate to play for the first team since Valley Gold's inception can be found here.
