TEAM NEWS | McGeady starts as Bowyer makes one change for Blackburn game

Aiden McGeady will make his first start in a Charlton shirt in today’s game against Blackburn Rovers.

The Irish international came on as a substitute in Tuesday’s 1-0 win at Nottingham Forest and will replace Erhun Oztumer in the starting XI.

McGeady is the only change to the starting lineup and Lee Bowyer has made one change on the substitutes bench with Andre Green returning in place of Chuks Aneke.

Darren Pratley has been rested for today’s game and Jonny Williams misses out after picking up a knock in training.

It means the Addicks are likely to start in the 3-5-2 formation they played on Tuesday. If they do Tom Lockyer, Jason Pearce and Naby Sarr will start in defence in front of Dillon Phillips.

Adam Matthews and Alfie Doughty will again operate as wing backs with a midfield trio of Josh Cullen, David Davis and McGeady.

Lyle Taylor and Tomer Hemed will start up front together.

Oztumer and Green will be joined on the substitutes bench by Ben Amos, Ben Purrington, Deji Oshilaja, Matt Smith and Macauley Bonne.

Charlton: Phillips; Lockyer, Pearce (C), Sarr; Matthews, Davis, McGeady, Cullen, Doughty; Taylor, Hemed

Substitutes: Amos, Purrington, Oshilaja, Smith, Oztumer, Green, Bonne
