VALLEY REVIEW | Centurion Sarr stars in Boxing Day programme

Centurion Naby Sarr is the star of Boxing Day’s matchday programme for the visit of Bristol City.

The defender celebrated his 100th appearance for the club in dramatic fashion on Saturday, scoring a 95th-minute equaliser to earn the Addicks a hard-fought point at Queens Park Rangers. In his feature interview, he discusses reaching the century landmark, that own goal at Wembley, how he has been better prepared for his second crack at the Championship and his pride at following in his father’s footsteps by receiving international recognition from Senegal.

Elsewhere, Lee Bowyer reflects on the dramatics at QPR and looks ahead to the festive fixtures as he pens his latest manager’s notes, and there is a special look back at the U18s’ FA Youth Cup heroics with an in-depth report from the victory over West Ham United, while U18s’ boss Anthony Hayes discusses the penalty shootout success.

As always, there’s plenty of historical content with a look back at some memorable Valley Classics against the Robins, while Jason Euell remembers the 4-2 victory over Chelsea on Boxing Day 2003 in ‘Talk Us Through It’ and Charlton Historian Clive Harris of the Museum takes a trip down memory lane with some unique match reports from the 1980s in the form of ‘matchstick men’ drawings.

All that and much more can be found in Sunday’s Valley Review, priced £3, available from in around the ground, as well as from the Valley Superstore.
