Home dressing room gets makeover

Charlton’s home dressing room has had a major makeover.

During the last international break, the Addicks’ tired old, plain changing room was dragged into the modern era with a state-of-the-art overhaul to make The Valley feel even more like home.

While the previous incarnation consisted of simple white tiles with some red piping and basic wooden benches and hooks, it has all be replaced by 20 individual wood-panelled compartments complete with cushioned seats and compartments to store boots, shinpads and other kit.

The most striking feature sees Charlton’s famous logo adorn the changing room floor, while LED lights above the compartments inject some more red into the new surroundings. The colour of these lights can also be changed at the flick of a switch and were turned pink for Lyle Taylor’s Pink October campaign when the new dressing room was used for the first time during the 3-0 victory over Derby County earlier this month.

The reconfiguring of the room saw a new flatscreen television installed in a new position at one end of the room, and the all-important magnetic tactics board area also received a refresh, while USB charging points feature in every players’ compartments.

The extensive work was done with thanks to Gorilla for design and installation, Vitech Services for lighting and electricals, Digital Fusion for signage and printing, Andrews Air Conditioning and Pacific Support Services.
