Jenna Legg, who joined Charlton Women from Brighton & Hove Albion this summer, can't wait to play against her former team on Sunday, September 22nd.

The 22-year-old midfielder spent nearly three years at the Women's Super League side.

Charlton's Continental Cup group game takes place at The Oakwood on Sunday.

Speaking ahead of the weekend Legg said: "“Obviously there will be a lot of familiar faces on and off the pitch but it’s important that that’s left behind.

“It’s a big challenge for us coming up against strong WSL opposition, but it’s an opportunity for us to test ourselves. For me, it’s just another game and I’m fully focused on the task in hand.”

Legg is looking forward to getting the Continental Cup campaign underway, and believes the Addicks have the chance to show that they can compete against top teams.

“It’s always tough coming up against WSL opposition and we all know that, but naturally we are a very competitive group and will all be putting our best foot forward to get the most out of the game.

“The pressure and expectation is on them so for us it’s a chance to give our all and show that we can compete at this level.”

Charlton’s Continental Cup group also has Arsenal, London City Lionesses and London Bees in. The top two from the group will progress to the knockout stage of the competition.

Legg has settled in well with the Addicks, and has high ambitions for her time with the club. She said: "It’s a great bunch of players and staff and we’re really beginning to gel.

“It’s a very new group so it’s still a work in progress but I’m really enjoying being back on the pitch and excited for what’s to come.

“I wanted to be at a club that could bring the best out of me both on and off the pitch. I instantly got a good feeling and believed in the way they work and do things.

“It’s a really positive environment and the ambition for promotion was something I couldn’t wait to be a part of.

“I hope I can help to take this club to where it deserves to be.”
