Charlton Athletic Women will host Women’s Championship rivals Aston Villa at The Valley on Saturday, October 12th at 3pm.

There is no Charlton Athletic fixture on that day, as it is the international break, and the club is encouraging Addicks supporters to head to The Valley that day to back Charlton Athletic Women.

Riteesh Mishra’s side surprised many on their first season in the Championship, finishing third and just missing out on what would have been a second consecutive promotion.

Charlton Athletic Women’s team general manager Steve Adamson said: "The international break has provided the perfect opportunity to showcase women's football in the traditional 3pm Saturday window. With the men's side not playing we want fans to bring their family to get a large crowd at The Valley and get behind the Charlton Athletic Women this season."

Charlton Athletic Women have played games at The Valley over the past few seasons, including a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Millwall Lionesses last season.

With the continual improvement around the team and the positive momentum for women’s football generated this summer by the England Lionesses, Charlton Athletic Women will be hoping to secure their largest crowd for a game for more than a decade.

Charlton Athletic club secretary Chris Parkes said: “We’re delighted to host Charlton Athletic Women’s team at The Valley again this season.

“The team has gone from strength to strength over the last few years with their promotion to the Championship being followed by a very impressive promotion push last season. We want to support Charlton Athletic Women drive their largest crowd for many years, which is why we wanted to have the game as a 3pm kick-off on a Saturday, allowing supporters to go about their usual matchday routines.”

Tickets are on sale now and to help boost the crowd, Charlton Athletic Women will be offering a special early bird discount rate before August 5th. Tickets with the early bird discount will cost just £5 for adults and £3 for concessions. Click here to book your tickets.

The match is included for all Charlton Athletic Women season ticket holders which are on sale here.
