PRE-SEASON PREVIEW | Dagenham & Redbridge v Charlton

Charlton are set to play their second pre-season friendly in as many days against National League side Dagenham & Redbridge on Wednesday evening at Chigwell Construction Stadium (7:30pm).

The Addicks have made a reasonable start to their pre-season campaign with a 1-0 victory (of sorts) in the abandoned game in Spain against Romania outfit Gaz Metan Meidas, followed by a 2-0 victory over near-neighbours Welling United on Saturday. And although Lee Bowyer was left disappointed by the 2-1 defeat at Ebbsfleet United on Tuesday evening, his players have another opportunity to impress 24 hours later against another National League outfit in Dagenham

Youngster Brendan Wiredu secured a late goal for the Addicks at the Kuflink Stadium - his second in as many games in pre-season - and he is set to get more minutes alongside some of his fellow U23 teammates.

Meanwhile, former academy graduate, Callum Harriott, is trialling with the squad after he made a move away to join Reading three years ago and Bowyer has also confirmed that he will be involved again on Wednesday evening.

The finishing side in last night's friendly is expected to start against the Daggers, as Bowyer attempts to give his players a total of 90 minutes from the two friendlies.

Dagenham finished 19th in the National league last season and have also recently played two pre-season matches against Concord Rangers (won 4-0) and Chelmsford city (lost 2-1).

Daggers Manager, Peter Taylor, seemed praising of The Addicks ahead of their fixture stating, “Charlton Athletic, what a great game and what a great season Lee Bowyer had.”

The last time these two teams faced off was in 2015 where Charlton secured a 4-1 win at The Valley in the League Cup to go through to the second round.

After wearing the club's brand new third kit for the past two friendlies, the Addicks will be sporting a temporary white strip for both Wednesday evening's clash with Dagenham and Saturday's trip to Gillingham. Meanwhile, Charlton's brand new away kit for 2019/20 is set to be revealed in due course.

Tickets for the match will be available form the ground on the evening priced: £12 adults, £6 concessions and juniors and £2 U10.

If you cannot make it to the match, you can watch all the action live on Valley Pass.

Valley Pass costs just £6.50 per month or £60 for the year and you can sign-up here.
