Bowyer on Lyle Taylor's fitness and Saturday's game against Doncaster Rovers

Lee Bowyer said Lyle Taylor is “fine” ahead of Saturday’s game against play-off rivals Doncaster Rovers.

The Addicks striker was seen wearing a protective boot after last week’s win against AFC Wimbledon.

Bowyer said: “Lyle Taylor rolled his ankle, but he’s fine. He trained on Tuesday and will train today and tomorrow, so he’s fine. He had a boot on last Saturday, but that was precautionary.”

On Saturday’s game he said: “It’s a big game, every game is a big game. We’re at the stage of the season where you could argue it’s a six-pointer because if we win then it puts a nice cushion between us

“Every game between now and the end of the season is a big game because every club is fighting for something different, whether it's promotion or survival.”

Doncaster lost to Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday, meaning the Addicks sit four points ahead of them. Bowyer said: “They would have gone there expecting to win, but Shrewsbury are a good side at home and it’s a difficult place to go. I didn’t really surprise me because it’s a tough place to go.”
