Bowyer says his side are "the full package" after putting their bodies on the line to beat Bristol Rovers

Lee Bowyer was pleased to see his side “win ugly” against Bristol Rovers today and that he felt that the win showed that his Addicks are “the full package”.

Jamie Ward, Joe Aribo and Karlan Grant found the net as Charlton extended their winning streak to three with a 3-1 win at The Valley.

Bowyer’s full post-match interview will be available on Valley Pass this evening

Speaking after the game he said: “I just said to the lads that sometimes it is good to win ugly. It’s not going to be beautiful and pretty every game, especially here. Teams are just going to come and make it difficult for us and Bristol did that.

“In the first half hour they couldn’t get to grips and then they just made it difficult and every time we went past them they fouled us.

"It was just an ugly game, it was stop-start, stop-start and they’re the ones that we wouldn’t have won before.

“I like seeing that togetherness and that fight, defending for your lives, putting your body on the line and blocking shots. I love seeing that. I see them pass every day, that just shows that we are the full package and we are all together and we are all fighting for the same outcome.

“We deserved to win, we deserved to win for sure. On chances we were the better side, in possession, we just made it more difficult that what it should have been.”
