Charlton Upbeats to star ahead of women's team's local derby against Crystal Palace

The Charlton Upbeats will be showing off their skills ahead of Charlton Women’s upcoming local derby against Crystal Palace on Sunday, November 25th (2pm).

The Upbeats will be playing a match at 12.45-1.15pm against Charlton Athletic Ability counts (PAN- Disability team), ahead of kick-off in the WSL Championship game at The Oakwood in Crayford.

Joining the Charlton Upbeats at the game will be Charlton players and staff and other representatives from the Charlton family, including Charlton Athletic Community Trust, CACT Invicta and the Proud Valiants.

CACT CEO Jason Morgan is pleased to support the Charlton family saying: “Under the Charlton umbrella, it’s important to recognise and support the family of clubs that are now in place and be proud to have the association.

“We are delighted to support the game on the 25th with the hugely-popular Upbeats playing before the main fixture. Let’s hope this helps get a great crowd on the day.”

Riteesh Mishra’s Women are unbeaten at home so far this season, sitting in third place in the table.

A spokesperson from the Proud Valiants added: “Not only is it wonderful to support our amazing women’s team, it is also great to see that the fantastic Upbeats will be playing on the same pitch before the match.

“This game not only demonstrates the amazing support CACT and Charlton show by embracing diversity, it also illustrates how far the sport has come and we look forward to the day when the whole game is fully inclusive. We wish the women’s team the best of luck!”

Women’s team General Manager Steve Adamson said: “This is such a big fixture for the women that we want to pack out the ground and get as many new fans down as possible, so I’m delighted that the Charlton Family has come on board. We have always received a lot of support from the football club and to see the Charlton Family come on board as well is highly appreciated.”
