Igor Vetokele and Josh Cullen are both set for a spell on the sidelines after the pair suffered dislocated shoulders during Tuesday night’s 2-0 win at Walsall.

Vetokele was substituted in the 34th minute while Cullen was replaced 10 minutes before the final whistle.

Charlton’s Head of Medical Services Alastair Thrush confirmed that as a result of the injury Cullen underwent keyhole surgery today to repair the shoulder and it is anticipated this will keep him out of action for the next 10-12 weeks.

Vetokele is awaiting the results of further scans to determine the most appropriate course of action for his recovery and rehabilitation and a further update with regards his expected time loss will be given in due course.

Patrick Bauer is nearing his return to full training as he steps up his rehabilitation following his knee ligament injury and it is hoped he will be fit to be involved in our Checkatrade Trophy game against Swansea U23s.

Anfernee Dijksteel is set to return to the squad for the FA Cup trip to Mansfield Town on Sunday having been rested for the Walsall game. The FA Cup game comes a little to soon however for Ben Reeves who has a minor hamstring strain which was sustained in the win against Doncaster Rovers. It is hoped that he will return to action in time for the next league match at Bristol Rovers in two weeks’ time.

Lewis Page continues his progression following his recent hip flexor injury and will look to start his outside running and conditioning work with the physio from next week. It is anticipated he will require a further three-to-four weeks of treatment before a return to full training.

Jake Forster-Caskey continues with his long term rehab following his ACL reconstruction and is progressing as expected in these early weeks.
