From the treatment room: Jake Forster-Caskey undergoes ACL reconstruction surgery

Jake Forster-Caskey has undergone successful ACL reconstructive surgery on his right knee.

The midfielder will now begin the initial phases of his rehabilitation programme, which should take between seven and nine months to complete.

On Tuesday, Patrick Bauer saw a knee specialist, who has advised us that there is enough stability in the ligament to opt for a conservative treatment approach.

Bauer will remain in a knee brace for the next six weeks after sustaining a high-grade LCL tear against Bradford City on Saturday, following a heavy challenge. He should return to action in nine to 10 weeks.

Billy Clarke will begin the process of being integrated back into training towards the end of next week. Having ruptured his ACL in December 2017, Clarke is now completing the final phases of his rehabilitation, which includes sport-specific movements and ball-work drills.

Once back, Clarke will require a period of sustained training before being phased back into game situations with the club’s U23s.

Darren Pratley is recovering well from his right hamstring strain. He is now pain free in all movements and has started running progressions. Pratley is targeting a return to first-team action in around two weeks.

Krystian Bielik is continuing his recovery from a medial soleus (calf) strain. The Arsenal loanee sustained a grade 2 strain and is also targeting a return to action in around two weeks’ time.
