200-goal Kit Graham eyeing Championship place for Charlton's women's team

Women’s team striker Kit Graham hit the 200-goal milestone for Charlton on Sunday and now she is eyeing a place in the FA Women’s Championship.

Graham found the net four times in the Addicks’ 4-0 thrashing of Crystal Palace at the weekend, taking her seasonal tally to 51 from just 38 games.

The victory secured the FA Women’s Premier League South title for Charlton and, though they still have two league matches remaining, they will now be focusing on their national play-off final against Blackburn Rovers at Bramall Lane on Sunday, May 27th.

The winner will take their place in next season’s newly-formed Championship and Graham is determined to help her side get there.

“I feel like I should have had a few more goals!” said Graham, who made her senior Charlton debut as a 16-year-old. “The girls have provided me with so many good chances and I’m really happy to have reached 200, even though I didn’t realise until after the game.

“Going into that Blackburn game, both teams will be giving everything and it is going to be a pretty even game.

“They have lost one [a play-off final] before, so they won’t want that feeling again and we have just got to go out and play like we did against Crystal Palace and we’ll do it.”

The former England U15 international has netted 202 goals in 208 matches for the Addicks.

She was delighted to have sealed top spot in the league but insists they still have a bigger prize to compete for.

She said: “I don’t think winning the league has really sunk in yet. We have got a couple of games left and we need to use them to prepare for the Blackburn game.

“We’ll enjoy it but our hard work doesn’t stop.”
