From the treatment room: Fosu progressing well and the latest on Lewis Page

Ahead of Charlton’s final league match of the season at Rochdale on Saturday, Head of Medical Services Alastair Thrush provides the latest on the first-team’s injuries and expected return dates.

Tariqe Fosu is progressing well and completed his first outside straight line runs with the club’s physios on Tuesday morning.

Fosu, who injured his left hamstring in the win against Portsmouth last month, will require some further strengthening sessions in the gym before his final functional and speed work can begin. It is hoped he will return to training in around 10 days.

Lewis Page sustained a deep laceration to his right knee from the studs of Ben Amos’ boot against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

This required stitching post-match and the aim over the next few days is to reduce the swelling and protect the stitches. Page is likely to be sidelined for the next two weeks in order to allow the wound to heal fully.

Anfernee Dijksteel has progressed ahead of schedule with his rehabilitation for the hamstring injury he sustained against Shrewsbury last month. He has re-joined full training and should be available for Saturday’s trip to Rochdale.

Chris Solly is making good progress in the early stages of his rehabilitation, following his knee arthroscopy operation. He is working hard in the gym to regain the strength and full range of movement around his right knee. He should return for the beginning of pre-season.

Billy Clarke is still on track with his rehabilitation, following ACL reconstruction surgery at the start of 2018. He is now running on the Alter G machine and it is hoped that he could begin running outside again over the next two weeks, whilst also continuing his strength work in the gym.
