Four things to see at The Valley tomorrow

Charlton take on Portsmouth tomorrow and the game has been dedicated to celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Addicks historic return to The Valley.

Pre-match entertainment begins from 12noon with activity on the pitch starting at 2.10pm. Here are four things to get to the game early for tomorrow:

1pm: Free Q&A with Charlton legends

Charlton legend Scott Minto hosts a free Q&A with former Addicks including Simon Webster, Colin Walsh, Garry Nelson and Darren Pitcher in the Fans’ Bar. The event is free but there are limited spaces available so worth arriving early to avoid disappointment.

2.40pm: The return of the Opera singer

In a return to a Charlton tradition an opera singer will perform before tomorrow’s game. Martin Toal has sung at The Valley before Premier League games and also sung to celebrate Charlton’s promotion to the Championship in 2011/12. He will sing three songs before kick-off on Saturday.

12noon - 2.15pm: The bands

The Batala London is part of an international group of Samba-Reggae bands. They’ve performed all around the UK, including games at Twickenham, Stamford Bridge and at Wembley. They’ll be performing outside the West Stand at 1.30pm and inside the stadium from 2.15pm.

But they aren’t the only band here tomorrow. The ATC Band played at The Valley just last month for Armed Forces Day and they’ll be performing twice on Saturday. That includes a performance outside the North Stand Reception at 12noon and outside the West Stand Reception at 1pm.

2.10pm: Supporters unite

Ashley Brown, Chairman of the Portsmouth Supporters’ Trust handed over a plate over to then Charlton Athletic Supporters’ Club chairman Steve Clarke when Charlton faced Portsmouth in the first game back at The Valley in 1992. Tomorrow Steve Clarke will hand over an anniversary shirt to Ashley Brown to thank the Portsmouth fans for their support of the game 25 years ago.

They’ll be plenty additional activity going on so make sure you get to The Valley in good time so you don’t miss anything.

Make sure to pick up a bumper 92-page edition of matchday programme Valley Review which celebrates 25-year anniversary of return to The Valley

Don’t forget three goals and three points for Charlton today means a free pint for fans in the Fans' Bar after the game as part of the Heineken hat-trick

To celebrate the anniversary and 25 years of the Charlton Athletic Community Trust, the club is also donating 25% of home ticket revenue from the game along with 25% of matchday programme sales to the charity.
