An introduction to the new Charlton Athletic website

Welcome to Charlton Athletic’s brand new website!

After many months of hard work we are delighted to finally unveil our new online home, which offers a vastly-improved user experience for Charlton supporters across the world.

We are renowned for our work in the community and have invested in this new-look website which brings together Charlton Athletic Community Trust and Greenwich Youth Services increasing awareness for each of the different strands, forming part of our digital strategy to attract new fans to The Valley and grow our fan base.

After our deal with Football League Interactive had come to an end, we felt that it was imperative to give the fans a bespoke website and we are now able to tailor cafc.co.uk to suit the need of our supporters.

We have listened to feedback from you, the fans, about what you want to see from your club website and one of the most popular requests was to see an improvement on the celebration of our great history.

As a result, an in-depth history section now plays a big part on cafc.co.uk, featuring as an interactive timeline which tells the story of Charlton from our birth in 1905, right through to the present day, while all of our historical stats, facts and records are presented on the ‘Trophy Cabinet’ page.

It is important for us to increase our reach to a younger audience, which is why the new Kids Club page will play a vital part. As well as competitions, and exclusive feature articles and videos that are aimed at young supporters, it will also be a base for our 48 local schools who are part of the club’s Schools Partnership scheme.

One of the biggest and most impressive features of the new-and-improved site is Valley Pass, our new premium video subscription service.

Valley Pass, available early next week as we begin our tour of Ireland, takes the now-defunct CAFC PlayerHD service to another level, offering subscribers a huge amount of exclusive content. As well as live, in-house audio commentary of every game, home and away, the service will offer full coverage of pre-season matches.

A number of brand new features, including ‘Valley Stories’, which sees Addicks legends sit down for a feature-length interview about their careers, will be exclusive to subscribers. Valley Pass will also offer the most extensive archive of Charlton footage available on demand, with every single season highlights production available to view from the 1980s to the current day.

And, of course, match highlights from first team, U23s, U18s and women’s team matches will all be available for supporters to watch.

We hope you enjoy reading, watching and trawling through our new website. We now have full control of our website making it much easier to make changes and improvements, which is why we want to hear from you.

With that in-mind we are keen to hear feedback from fans, so if you have any comments or suggestions about the new website, please get in contact by emailing website@cafc.co.uk.
