'

Charlton's U21s got their first win of the 2026/27 season on Wednesday evening, as they beat Stockport County 2-1 in the Premier League Cup.

Chris Lock's side have been drawn in a group alongside Stockport County, Leeds United and Stoke City in the Premier League Cup, where they will meet each side twice, with the top two progressing into the knock-out stages.

Charlton took the lead after 19 minutes through Ellis McMillan. Shia-Lee Burnham picked out McMillan with an excellent through ball, finding him in plenty of space. McMillan kept his composure to calmly slot the ball beyond Cian O’Shea and put the Addicks 1-0 ahead.

Joe Astles levelled the scoring for the home side just before half-time with a powerful shot that found the bottom corner. The two sides went into the break level at 1-1.

Ethan Brown was the matchwinner for Charlton, with his goal proving to be decisive. Burnham was at the heart of the action again, as he sent an excellent searching cross into the box. Brown rose highest to head it home, to secure the win for the young Addicks.

Chris Lock's side are next in action at The Valley on Tuesday, September 1st where they face Wigan Athletic in the PDL (7pm BST).
