TEAM NEWS | Ramsay set for first start of season

Lloyd Jones' captains armband

Kayne Ramsay will make his first start of the season in this evening’s game against Burnley at Turf Moor (7.45pm BST).

Amari’i Bell also starts as Nathan Jones makes two changes from the team that drew with Bristol City at The Valley on Saturday. The duo come in to replace Josh Edwards and Micah Mbick.

It means the Addicks may play the game in the 3-4-3 formation that they adopted for much of the second half on Saturday. If that is to be the case Ramsay would join captain Lloyd Jones and Billy Koumetio in a back three in front of Arthur Okonkwo.

Danny McNamara and Bell may operate as wing-backs with Conor Coventry and Oliver Skipp in midfield behind a front three of Karlan Grant, Miles Leaburn and Tyreece Campbell. If the Addicks opt for a 3-5-2 then Grant may play in an attacking midfielder role behind Leaburn and Campbell.

The Charlton bench consists of Will Mannion, Tyler Bindon, Ivan Mesík, Alan Mwamba, Harvey Knibbs, Sonny Carey, Millenic Alli, Charlie Kelman and Mbick.

Charlton: Okonkwo; Ramsay, Jones (c), Koumetio; McNamara, Coventry, Skipp, Bell; Grant, Leaburn, Campbell
