Millenic Alli has joined the Addicks on a four-year-deal from Luton Town.
The forward arrives as Nathan Jones’ fifth signing of the summer.
We take a closer look at his journey so far.
Bury
Born in Dublin, Alli began his career at his local grassroots club. At the age of 14, he moved from Ireland to England, where he signed for Bury's academy. After progressing though the ranks with the Shakers, he stepped into non-League.
Spells in non-League
The winger established himself in non-League football, where he had spells up and down the tiers. He spent time at Padiham, South Shields, Workington, Ashton, Stockport County and Chorley, before establishing himself at FC Halifax Town.
FC Halifax Town
Following his release by Stockport, Alli was quickly snapped up by National League side Halifax. The forward enjoyed an impressive spell in West Yorkshire, making 43 appearances and scoring 16 goals. The Irishman also helped the team lift the FA Trophy in 2023, playing all 90 minutes of their 1-0 win over Gateshead in the final at Wembley.
Alli was touted as “one of non-League’s hottest talents” throughout his time at Halifax and, following a string of impressive performances, he earned a move to Exeter City in January 2024, marking the first EFL transfer of his career.
Exeter City
The forward made his move to the Grecians in January 2024. He adapted well to life in the EFL, quickly becoming a fan favourite. He scored 16 goals in 43 games, over the course of his one-year spell at St James Park. The forward’s impressive form earned him a move to the Sky Bet Championship with Luton Town in January 2025.
Luton Town
Alli arrived at Kenilworth Road after scoring 12 goals in all competitions for Exeter City during the first half of the 2024/25 season.
The winger made 38 appearances for the Hatters, 16 of which came in the Championship, prior to their relegation to the third tier. He netted five times and registered three assists in a Luton shirt.
It would not be long before Alli would return to the Championship, however with the Irishman being loaned back to the second tier in January 2026.
Portsmouth (loan)
Halfway through the 2025/26 season, he joined Portsmouth on loan for the remainder of the campaign. He totalled 21 games for Pompey in all competitions last term, scoring once and claiming two assists, as John Mousinho’s side secured another season of Championship football.
Republic of Ireland
Following his performances with with Pompey, he gained international recognition, earning his first cap for the Republic of Ireland national team.
Alli made his senior debut for the Boys in Green in May, coming on as a substitute and registering an assist in a 5-0 friendly victory against Grenada.
