With the international break over, Charlton Women start this next block of games at The Valley against Manchester United on Sunday, October 18th at 2pm (BST).
TEAM NEWS
Seven of the Addicks were away on international duty this week. Anna Koivunen, Ellie Mason, Sophie Whitehouse, and Mary McAteer (on loan at Ipswich) all played in the FIFA World Cup play-offs, whilst Emily van Egmond, Leah Davidson and Keira Flannery played in friendlies for Australia and England U23s, respectively.
Fortunes were mixed in the play-offs, with Mason's Northern Ireland going out, while the other Addicks' national teams progressed to the play-off finals.
Earlier this week Charlton Athletic confirmed that Grace Johnston and Hawa Cissoko have both sustained injuries and will be out for a period of time.
THE OPPOSITION
Manchester United currently sit seventh in the Barclays WSL with seven points. Before the break, United beat Liverpool 1-0 thanks to a first-half goal from Julia Zigiotti, which was the team's second win of the season.
Overall, United have two wins, one draw and two losses in the league, and are also competing in the UEFA Women's Champions League
This season, United appointed Eva Olid as their new manager, having previously managed Heart of Midlothian from 2021 to 2026. In 2026, Olid was named the PFA Scotland SWPL Manager of the Year after she led Hearts to their first SWPL title.
HEAD-TO-HEAD
This will be the first meeting between Charlton Athletic and Manchester United since the 2018-19 WSL2 season, when the Red Devils won 3-0 at home and 2-1 away.
The only other time the two teams have met was all the way back in the 2002/03 season, when Charlton won 8-0 in an FA Cup tie that manager Karen Hills played in.
