The Addicks continue their Sky Bet Championship campaign against Preston North End at The Valley on Saturday (3pm BST).

TEAM NEWS

Collins Sichenje (knee) and Billy Koumetio (hamstring) were forced off through injury on Wednesday evening and join Kayne Ramsay (ankle) on the sidelines. Josh Edwards (ankle) and Charlie Kelman (shoulder) have both returned to training, but Saturday's game comes too soon for the pair.

The visitors will be without Ali McCann (hamstring), Brad Potts (ankle) and Theo Carroll (ankle).

THE OPPOSITION

The Lilywhites finished 14th in the Sky Bet Championship last term on a total of 60 points. They picked up 15 wins, 15 draws and 16 losses across the course of the season.

Paul Heckingbottom's side come into the clash having lost 4-0 at home to Everton in the second round of the Carabao Cup in midweek.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

Charlton and Preston have gone toe-to-toe on 77 previous occasions, with the Addicks winning 24, the Lilywhites winning 39 and the remaining 14 fixtures resulting in draws.

Preston ran out 2-1 victors when the sides last met at The Valley in April 2026, with Brad Potts netting the winner for the visitors.

Charlton's last triumph over North End in SE7 came in November 2011, when Chris Powell's side ran out 5-2 victors in their League One winning season.

REF WATCH

Tom Reeves will oversee proceedings this Saturday. The referee took charge of 39 games last season, dishing out 120 yellow cards and one red. 

Speedie will be assisted by Andrew Dallinson and Ross Murphy, while Samuel Allison fills the Fourth Official role.

Fans are advised that the below roads around the ground will be closed from 2pm until just after kick-off:

  • Harvey Gardens
  • Valley Grove

The Fan Zone, Bartram's and the Fans' Bar will all be open for supporters to enjoy from 12pm and will remain open for an hour post-game.

The Valley Superstore opens at 10am and will be open for an hour after the full-time whistle.
