MATCH PREVIEW | Charlton v Bristol City

'

The Addicks return to Sky Bet Championship action on Saturday, as they host Bristol City at The Valley (12.30pm BST).

Nathan Jones’ side will be looking to get back on the winning trail following the extended international break.

TEAM NEWS

Will Mannion (shoulder), Kayne Ramsay (ankle), Billy Koumetio (hamstring), Nathaniel Chalobah (thigh) and Matty Godden (hamstring) were all sidelined for the Addicks before the international break.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, the gaffer said: "Physically, the players that have been out, the break has aided us in the sense that they have had three weeks further to recover and they haven’t missed a game. We're in a significantly better position with pretty much everyone who has been injured."

Jones also confirmed that all of Charlton's internationals have returned to Sparrows Lane unscathed.

Collins Sichenje (knee) is set to be sidelined until the end of the campaign.

Luke McNally (knee) is available again for the visitors following a long-term injury, while late calls will be made on Noah Eile (illness) and Lorent Tolaj (knock).

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace loanee Rio Cardines has recovered from a minor groin injury that saw him return home early from international duty with Trinidad and Tobago.

THE OPPOSITION

The Robins' most recent Sky Bet Championship fixture was a 1-0 win over Watford at Ashton Gate on Friday, September 18th. Dom Ballard scored the only goal of the game that secured all three points for Michael Skubala’s side.

The Robins currently sit eighth, a point and a place above the Addicks, in the table on a tally of 13 points from their opening eight fixtures.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

The two sides have gone head-to-head on 65 occasions, with the Addicks winning 32 times, the Robins winning 20 times and the remaining 13 encounters ending in draws.

Charlton’s last victory over Bristol City in SE7 came on Boxing Day 2019. Macauley Bonne scored a brace for the Addicks and Alfie Doughty joined him on the scoresheet to secure all three points.

Tom Reeves will oversee proceedings on Saturday afternoon. Reeves has taken charge of six games in the EFL so far this season and has dished out 24 yellow cards.
