Charlton kick off their Subway Women's League Cup campaign with a trip to Broadfield Stadium to take on Brighton on Wednesday, 23rd September, at 7.45pm (BST).
TEAM NEWS
Charlton are confirmed to be without three players ahead of this clash.
Captain Kiera Skeels will miss the clash after picking up a knock on Saturday against London City Lionesses.
Paula Partido has returned to London City Lionesses for treatment on a minor knee injury. The 21-year-old Spanish forward will return to Charlton following her treatment.
Linda Lif Boama is out for a period after sustaining a knee injury in training. Boama successfully underwent surgery and is currently in rehabilitation with the club.
Hawa Cissoko is also available after serving a one-match league suspension following her sending off at Goodison Park. Ash Neville remains suspended.
THE OPPOSITION
Brighton & Hove Albion Women have made a battling start to the 2026/27 season, picking up two points from their opening three WSL games. After a narrow defeat to Arsenal, Albion fought back from two goals down to draw at Birmingham before a late Aston Villa equaliser denied them victory at the Amex.
With both sides yet to pick up a win in the BWSL, the cup may prove to be a welcome distraction, as well as an opportunity to build some confidence among the squads.
LAST TIME OUT IN THE CUP
Charlton Athletic Women secured an impressive 1-0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion in their last Subway Players Cup meeting, with the Addicks coming out on top at Broadfield Stadium in November 2025.
Mary McAteer’s 18th-minute goal proved decisive, as her cross from the left took a surprising bounce and found the back of the net to give Charlton an early lead. The Addicks then produced a disciplined defensive display to protect their advantage against a Brighton side who enjoyed the majority of possession.
