Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Leah Davidson from A-League Women side Melbourne City.
"I am so excited to be here and be a part of something so special. It was so nice to walk in on day one and meet everyone. Everyone's been really welcoming, and I’m just so excited to be here.
Davidson has joined Charlton on a two-year deal after spending the last six years of her career at Melbourne, winning the last three consecutive A-League titles.
"I spent six years at Melbourne City, and honestly can’t say a bad word about the club. Loved it, grew as a player and a person, but I thought I can’t say no to this opportunity, and I can’t wait to get started."
A full Australian international, Davidson is a composed, versatile and reliable defensive midfielder who described her own game as 'passionate, aggressive, and physical'.
When asked who she is most looking forward to playing this season, Davidson said: "I’d probably say the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City, all of them big clubs. I know it’ll be challenging, but I’m so excited for them."
