Karen Hills has spoken to the media, following a home defeat to Manchester United.
"I'm proud. I'm proud of the group.First half, Man United, credit to them. I thought they were probably some of the best football they've probably played at the start of this season. I thought the way that they moved the ball, the rotations, we had a lot to deal with.
"And then obviously conceding so early on, I think that was not in the script. But at the same time, I thought the players tried to regroup. We obviously then went down 2-0.
"But then we scored an unbelievable goal, which I thought was excellent from us and something that I know that we can do.So that gives us a little bit of hope to hold on to. And then obviously 3-1 going in at half-time. So the message was at half-time, listen, go out.
"You can't change that score. There were some really, really good performances. But at the same time, let's make sure that we don't throw it in.We keep going and we have our identity.
"In that second half, we work hard for each other and we're together in everything we do. And the players did excellent in the second half. I thought they took the game to Man Utd.
"I thought we created some really good moments. I thought we were really intent in what we were doing. And I'm just proud of that second-half performance.
"I think you saw it in the first half as well when we actually got the ball. We played some really nice football. It's a team that's very aggressive and on the front foot. It was just the moments when we didn't have the ball that probably cost us today. And just obviously some little individual like duels.
"I thought their first goal was probably a little bit lucky. But those are the moments that sometimes when the luck's with you and you just hit something, it goes in.But listen, my players today I thought was outstanding again. And I'm proud of them.
"And when we talk about bravery, I thought we took the second half to Man Utd. And if we can do that against a very, very top team like Man Utd, then I'm hoping that we can continue on that run.
Yeah, it was outstanding [Leah Davidson's goal]. It was unbelievable. Obviously, from the left-hand side, we worked it really, really well. And I think she run 40 yards to get on the end of it. Her heart, her desire, her work rate has been tremendous.
"And she took the game. She really took it with both hands today. And I thought she thoroughly deserved that. And it was a fantastic finish as well."
Finally, looking ahead to Birmingham, she added: "Yeah, listen, Birmingham is a tough side.
"I know them very, very well from playing them in the last couple of seasons in the WSL2. They're resources. They're investors. The way that they've carried themselves, they had an aim and a goal to get into the WSL.
"So they've got some unbelievable players. And you've certainly seen the results that they've picked up. And that's going to give them a lot of belief and hope.
"So, yeah, I think it's going to be a really tight and good game. And both teams are obviously going to want to try and do everything they can to get that three points."
