Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of highly-rated winger Junior Nkeng from AFC Wimbledon for an undisclosed fee.
The 19-year-old, who was crowned as the Dons’ 2025/26 Young Player of the Year, has put pen to paper on a three-year contract to become the Addicks’ 10th arrival of the summer following the signings of Ivan Mesík, Billy Koumetio, Karlan Grant, Danny McNamara, Millenic Alli, Nathaniel Chalobah, Timothy Ouma, Arthur Okonkwo and Tyler Bindon.
After completing his switch to south-east London, Nkeng said: "I’m buzzing. It’s something I’ve been waiting for a very long time and I can’t wait to get started.
"Every player wants to go as high as possible. The Championship is a very tough league and it’s a step that I think I’m ready for."
Manager Nathan Jones commented: "We’re delighted to get it done. He’s a player we've watched and monitored for a while. He’s a young player who will provide real valuable competition. We get him at a real good age. He has a lot of development to come but he has the raw attributes that we want.
"We’re hoping that he can really make the step up to Championship football - we’re excited to see how he can develop. Along with the likes of TC [Tyreece Campbell], Miles [Leaburn], Alan [Mwamba], Ibby [Fullah] and Micah [Mbick] and all these young players that we’ve had in the side - he’s one that we’re really excited about. It continues our tradition at the football club of developing players, albeit one that we’ve gone out and bought."

Born in Barcelona, Spain, Nkeng moved to London at the age of seven and had spells at Brentford and Tottenham Hotspur before joining the Dons’ academy in 2021.
