Charlton Athletic Women are delighted to announce the signing of French international Hawa Cissoko from Italian club Parma.
Cissoko returns to the English game after two years in Italy, on a one-year contract with an option.
"If I can give a number, I’m giving you 10/10. I’m actually really happy and really excited to be here."
Starting her career in her native France, Cissoko played for Paris Saint-Germain, Marseille and Soyaux-Charente, before making a move to England to play for BWSL side West Ham. Now that she is back, Cissoko is most excited to face her old side.
"Of course, West Ham, because that was my team. I played there for four years, and I had a lot of friends there."
Cissoko also mentioned a few other teams she's excited to play against: "Tottenham, because I love playing against Tottenham, and I scored against this team. And then all the other teams to play against friends, like Chelsea because of my friend Sandy Baltimore.
"So it will be nice to play against her, but West Ham and Tottenham will be the biggest games for me."
Cissoko will wear the number 19 for Charlton, one of two numbers that mean a lot to her.
"My number is [really] 23, and my second number is 19 just because it’s my area in Paris. My family and friends are happy when I can represent the town."
With the season ready to kick off this weekend, Cissoko has this message to the fans.
"Hi Charlton fans, Hawa’s here. I’m really happy to be here, really excited to meet you. I hope we are going to have a good season together. See you soon!"
