Charlton Athletic are delighted to announce the signing of defender Ashleigh Neville from WSL2 side Leicester City.
"I’m really happy," Neville said after signing, "It's an exciting journey for myself and the club, so really happy to be here."
With over 100 appearances in the Barclays WSL, Neville is reunited with Karen Hills, who signed her for Tottenham back in 2017.
"I think I know what Karen’s about and vice versa; she knows what I bring, and I think I know how good this pre-season’s going to be and what Karen brings to the on and off of the pitch, and I’m really looking forward to working with her again."
"I’m hoping I can bring experience from the WSL and being within that league for a long time.
"I’m hoping to bring things on and off the pitch with the way I play, and collectively working with the team off the pitch to bring the team together and see what we can do on the pitch."
Born in West Bromwich, Ash began her career with Sporting Club Albion in 2011 before moving to Coventry United in 2013. Hills recognised Neville's talents and signed her for Spurs when they were in the Women's Championship in 2017, with promotion to the WSL following the season after.
She stayed with Spurs until moving to Leicester in January of 2026. Now, she joins Charlton as they head into their first season back in the top flight of English women's football.
When asked what makes the WSL so special, Neville said: "I think it’s the best league in the world.
"It's attracting players from all over the world at the minute, and I think it’s an exciting time for the club to be part of what the league is looking like and shaping up to be."
Neville has one last message to the Charlton fans before the start of the season: "Thank you for welcoming me to the club, and I’m really looking forward to seeing you all at our first home game."
