Jonny Williams became Charlton’s first signing of the 2019 January transfer window when he joined the club on a six-month contract from Crystal Palace. At the end of the season, the club and Williams underwent contract talks and agreed a deal which will see the League One play-off winner remain at The Valley.
Williams – a Wales international – was raised in Kent and came through the ranks at Palace, making 70 senior appearances at Selhurst Park.
He has also taken in loan spells at Ipswich Town, Nottingham Forest, Milton Keynes Dons and, most recently, Sunderland.
Williams had racked up 135 senior appearances prior to arriving in SE7 and he also has 17 caps for Wales under his belt, including four caps during their memorable run to the semi-finals of Euro 2016.
His time in this part of South London has proved successful so far, as he played his part in helping the Addicks clinch promotion to the Championship. He will be hoping to improve on his form in Charlton red and help consolidate the clubs status in the second tier.
